    Why another weight loss blog?

    After losing a combined 135+ pounds and often being asked just how we are doing it, we decided that it was time to share our stories of success with others that are struggling with weight loss or food addictions.  We don't have all the answers and we're not done with our struggles, but we hope that what we have learned will help others on a similar journey.

    Who are you?

    We're Dawn and Leah: two now 30-something friends from high school who've struggled with our weight most of our lives. We've always been wicked cool and liked ourselves-- because being successful in weight loss or failing miserably at it doesn't make you any better or worse of a person (duh!). You can find out more on our "about us" section.

    What's this blog going to be like?

    We're still figuring that out.  We'll let you know things that worked for us, things that got in our way, how we manage to eat well, excercise and still maintain an otherwise insanely busy schedule.  We'll also keep you updated on our current progress and struggles.  Dawn will be writing from the perspective of maintaining her weight loss.  Leah is still about halfway from her size goal and will write from that perspective.  If you have anything specific you want us to talk about, please let us know - we are always looking for good things to talk about.

    Sure.  We got started on this journey by reading and implementing the guidelines talked about in the book "The new sugar busters: cutting sugar to trim fat."  They have some simple quick tips for getting started on their very ugly website: http://www.sugarbusters.com/filessb/newbietips.htm.  We picked up additional tips and tricks along the way from various sources, but that's how it all started.
